Linda Carol Woods Humphreys 1948-2021 Obituary
Linda Carol Woods Humphreys, age 73 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Thursday morning, September 23, 2021 at Mountain Memories Assisted Living and Retirement Center at Elkins, WV. She had been in declining health for the past five years.
She was born Friday, May 21, 1948 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late James Arthur and Hazel Mae Howell Woods. On December 22, 1973 she was married to Robert W. Humphreys, who preceded her in death on August 27, 1990. Surviving are special nephews, Richard Judy and wife Angie of Elkins; Randy Judy of Elkins; step daughter, JoAnn Humphreys and companion Bobby Moyer of Barbour County; one brother, Robert H. “Johnny” Woods and wife Joan of Elkins; two sisters, Dorothy E. Layne of Elkins, Mona Mae Turner and husband Lawrence of Elyria, OH; sisters-in-law, Georgia Lee Woods of Cumberland, MD, and Leah Woods of Elkins; and brothers-in-law, Dale Humphreys of OH, Butch Humphreys, Larry Humphreys, and Paul Haddix all of Philippi.
Preceding her in death are one stepson, Robert W. Humphreys II; three brothers, William C. “Bill”, James A., and Arthur D. “Bud” Woods; two sisters, Sylvia Ann Judy and Nancy C. Ramsey; two brothers-in-law, Sonny Layne and Lonnie “Dusty” Ramsey; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Woods.
Linda attended the schools of Elkins, had worked as a waitress at Scotties and attended the Church of the Brethren. She loved the color pink, cherished her great nieces and nephews, and her family.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Wednesday, September 29, 2011 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday, at 12:00 PM. The Reverend Jamie Estep will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV.
