Zetta Isabella Harris 1929-2021 Obituary
Zetta Isabella Rossey Harris, age 92 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Tuesday evening, June 29, 2021 at the WV Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her loving family. She had been in declining health.
She was born Tuesday, March 26, 1929 at Montrose, WV a daughter of the late Sylvester and Molly Rossey. On June 26, 1947 at Elkins, WV she was married to John Francis Harris, who preceded her in death December 20, 2007. They had celebrated sixty years of marriage. Surviving are one son, Bradley Thomas Harris and wife Maria of Lighthouse Point, FL; one daughter Angela Marie Holland and husband Richard of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Colonel H. C. Marson V, Darrick A. Marson, Ashley E. Marson, Zetta Serena Marson, Lieutenant Colonel John G. Harris, Vanessa Harris, Cristina Rajevac, Mollie Noell, and Sara Harris; and ten great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was one son, Gregory Francis Harris; and one brother, Zane Rossey.
Zetta was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Elkins and was an active member of the Saint Brendan Catholic Church. She was an avid Golfer, having been the Club Champion at the Elk’s Country Club several times and had hit a hole-in-one. She enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook, making wonderful Italian bread and loved baking.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 PM, Friday. On Saturday morning, July 3, 2021, Mrs. Harris will be moved to the Saint Brendan Catholic Church where the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM. The Rev. Father Jim O’Connor will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
