Kenneth Robert “Kenny” Smith 1950-2021 Obituary
Kenneth Robert “Kenny” Smith, age 71 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV departed this life early Sunday morning, June 27, 2021 at his home.
He was born Saturday, April 8, 1950 at Hagerstown, MD, a son of the late Rev. Roscoe Clayton Smith and Rev. Ruth E. Hutzell Smith. He was previously married to Mary Alice Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Ciara Beth Smith; one son, Zachary Clayton Smith; seven grandchildren; Maliyah Smith, Katie Surguy, Terra Kuhn, Jayden Kuhn, K’Hori Miller, Aubree Smith and Zaylee Smith; and several close friends.
He was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1969, where he was an outstanding basketball player. He attended a Christian College on a basketball scholarship. He was a former employee of D & W Truck Lines as a tire mechanic and later worked at the Davis Shop-n-save. He worked in Hagerstown, MD area for a period of time before moving back to Parsons, WV. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, spent a great deal of time with his granddaughter Terra and was an avid basketball enthusiast.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 6 PM. Rev. Kevin Keplinger will officiate.
