Morris L. Alt 1945-2003 Obituary
Morris Lee Alt, 58, of Harrisonburg, Va., and formerly of Petersburg, died Saturday, October 11, 2003 at his residence.
Born Jan. 10, 1945, in Petersburg, he was the son of Elsie Lee Alt Hedrick, a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Morris graduated from Petersburg High School in 1965. He was U.S. Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and a member of the Petersburg Lodge No. 145 AF&AM.
Morris and his business associate, Jimmie Breeden, were self-employed building contractors.
He was a member of Petersburg Memorial Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Sharon Ciotti Alt; one son, Kenny Harrison Alt II of Harrisonburg, Va.; one sister, Bonnie Hedrick of Petersburg; one brother, Larry K. Hedrick of Petersburg; aunts and uncles, Bessie and Herman Kimble of Buckhannon and Arthur and Martha Alt of Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg. The family received friends one hour prior to services. The Rev Stanley Kile officiated and burial will be private.
