Betty Paugh 1935-2021 Obituary
Betty L. Paugh, age 86 years, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Monday, November 15, 2021 at Mansfield Place in Philippi, WV. She was born April 11, 1935 at Alpena, WV, a daughter of the late Amos and Texie White. She is survived by two sons, Brian Paugh of Elkins and Neal Paugh and wife Kim of Elkins. Also surviving are grandchildren Hillary Paugh and companion John Burgess; Garret Paugh and companion Susie Corley, Jessica Koch and husband Billy. Great-grandchildren, Avaleigh Burgess, Gage and Kinley Koch. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Forrest, Gerald, Myron and John White; four sisters, Gertrude Summerfield, Lucy Lantz, Louise Clayton and Martha Fincham. Betty was a graduate of Elkins High School and had worked at Memorial General and Davis Memorial Hospitals in the Medical Record Department. She was also a member of the Grandmother Program at the West Virginia Children’s Home. When she was in better health, she attended the Elkins Church of the Brethren where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship of the Church.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 22, 2021 at the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins. Pastor Mark Teets will officiate and interment will follow. The family has asked that masks and social distancing be observed by anyone attending the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Elkins Church of the Brethren, C/O Nancy Thompson, 313 Scott Ford Road, Elkins, WV 26241 in memory of Betty.
