Violet Lucille Kines (Righman) 1934-2021 Obituary
Mrs. Violet Lucille Righman Kines, age 87, a resident of Moatsville, departed this life Thursday afternoon September 23, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born April 22, 1934, at Nestorville, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Lena Gay Poling Righman. On October 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Leone “Mutt” Kines, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2019.
She is survived by two daughters; Roberta “Bobbie” Rinehart of Belington and Joyce Simmons and husband Bob of Moatsville, grandchildren; Rickey “RJ” Rinehart and companion Andrea Adamson, Nicole “Nikki” Wolfe and husband Derek, and Robert “Rob” Wilfong and wife Dema. Great-grandchildren surviving are Makylie Rinehart, Kale and Keagan Wolfe, Taylor, Kelsea and Xander Wilfong and Dominic Summerfield. Several nieces, nephews, and a whole host of friends also survive. Additional survivors include two brothers; Eugene Righman and wife Dorine of Philippi and Jerry Righman and wife Nancy of Nestorville, sister-in-law; Jean Kines of Tacy, and a very special friend; Vonda Moore.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her father and mother-in- laws; Delbert “Deb” and Tina Kines, son-in-law; Rick Rinehart, and brother-in-law; Bennie Kines.
Lucille was a very special lady and was loved and respected by many. She was a member of Kasson United Methodist Church, the Kasson Ruritan Club, the Barbour County Senior Center, the Laurel Mountain Post #410 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Barbour County Fair Association, the O.E.S. Chapter #41 of Philippi and the 4-H Allstars. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Per Lucille’s request cremation will be honored. The family will receive friends form the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Sunday October 3, 2021 from 3 – 4 pm at which time a memorial service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Kenny Kendal & Brad Dumire officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Nestorville Cemetery c/o Dottie Freeman 503 Baughman Road Philippi, WV 26416. Due to Covid restrictions facial coverings and social distancing are highly recommended while paying your respects in the funeral home.
