Janet Belle Bolton (Hinkle) 1932-2021 Obituary
Mrs. Janet Belle Hinkle Bolton age 88 a resident of Belington, WV departed this life early Saturday morning August 7, 2021 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown. Death was following a short illness.
She was born October 4, 1932 at Junior, WV a daughter of the late L.H. “Mack” Hinkle and Madge Christine Lee Hinkle. On July 29, 1954 at Junior, WV she was united in marriage to Craig F. Bolton Jr, they had celebrated 67 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband Craig, she is survived by two sons; Craig F. Bolton III of Belington, Roger L. Bolton and wife Sabrina of Elkins, two granddaughters; Kristin Johnson and husband Barrett of Belington, Alaina Beeson-Bertelli and husband Jason of Belington, two great-grandsons, twins Thaddeus and Connor, and one great-granddaughter Alessia. A whole host of friends also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her only sister Charlotte A. Hinkle.
Mrs. Bolton attended The Schools of Barbour County and was a 1949 graduate of The Belington High School. She furthered her academic career by attending Glenville State College for two years, and West Liberty College for also two years. Mrs. Bolton worked many years as a dental hygienist, working for various dentists in the area, which include; Dr. Davis, Dr. Layman, Dr. Moss and lastly Dr. Milem from which she retired.
Mrs. Bolton was a member of The First Baptist Church in Belington where she was very active, she was in charge of the prayer shawl ministries, delivered children’s sermons, helped organize vacation bible schools, and was secretary of the church. She worked tirelessly in all church functions. Janet was one of the founding organizers of The Belington Public Library and was still active with the Library Board up until the time of her passing. Mrs. Bolton held the title of being the 1st Belington Fair Queen in the year of 1949. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #41 of Philippi, she was a kind and loving lady and she never thought anyone was below her love and compassion. Mrs. Bolton was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother and her passing and absence will be felt throughout her community.
Friends will be received from The Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Tuesday August 10, 2021 from 12-2 pm. Final rites will be conducted at 2pm from the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Julie Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Belington Public Library PO Box 878 Belington, WV 26250, and The Belington First Baptist Church PO Box 34 Belington, WV 26250.
