Opal Lenora Stalnaker 1922-2021 Obituary
Opal L. Stalnaker, age 99 years, a former resident of Valley Bend, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center. She was born August 2, 1922 at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Basil Jones and Mabel Hite Ware. On October 24, 1939 she was married to Sherman Densil Stalnaker who preceded her in death May 21, 2001. She is survived by one son, Donald E. Stalnaker of Valley Bend; two daughters, Sandra Fuller of Oklahoma and Patricia Stalnaker of Melbourne, FL. several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Ware and Carl Wamsley and one sister, Gatewood Wamsley Folden. Mrs. Stalnaker was a homemaker, a member of Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star and the Valley Bend United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Stalnaker Cemetery at Monterville, WV. Pastor Marshall Williams will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Opal L. Stalnaker.
