Janet Sue Rush Rhodes Dumire 1948-2021 Obituary
Janet Sue Rush Rhodes Dumire, 73, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Friday, December 3, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Janet was born Thursday, January 9, 1948, in Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Jesse James Rush and Gracie Margaret Taylor Rush. She married twice, first to Stephen Kenneth Rhodes who preceded her in death and then on November 7, 1987, in Monterey, VA, she married Virgil Ray Dumire who survives at home.
Also left to cherish her memory are two children, Steve Allan Rhodes and Christopher Brian Rhodes, both of Elkins, two stepchildren, Virgil Edward Dumire and Christina Rae Dumire, both of SC, seven grandchildren, Autumn, Jessie, Cody, and Adilyn Rhodes, Alexa and McKayla Izzard, and Zachary Dumire, six great-grandchildren, five siblings, Robert Rush, Sue Ford, Joyce Kepner, Libby Rush, Kenny Rush, and her cat Chloe.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and first husband were eight siblings, Lillian Rush, Jesse Rush, Georgia Haney, Loreen Hardman, Regina Johnson, Ronnie Rush, Junior Rush, and Randall “applesauce” Rush.
Janet attended the schools of Randolph County and was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed attending cake walks. Her absolute passion was finding yard sales, no matter where they were, and heading there with her husband Virgil.
Janet’s request for cremation was honored.
