Arlie Lewis Arbogast 1923-2010 Obituary
Mr. Arlie Lewis Arbogast, 86, a resident of Bowden, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in Colonial Place.
He was born July 29, 1923, at Weese, a son of the late James W. and Ruth M. Coberly Arbogast.
On March 8, 1944, he was married to Geneva Kerens Arbogast, who preceded him in death July 19, 1996.
He is survived by two sons, James W. Arbogast and wife, Nancy, of Short Gap and Clarence W. Arbogast and wife, Dottie, of Bowden; and four grandchildren, Tracey Smith and husband, Herby, of Batavia, Ill., Kimberly Everson and husband, Jamie, of Bowden, Rebecca Arbogast of Tallahassee, Fla., and Vincent Arbogast and wife, Tamela, of Bowden. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, Brandon and Latrisha Everson, Corey, Aurora, Callie, Chase, Harley and Sammie Arbogast and Karley Smith; and one sister, Wilda Young and husband, Hugh, of Lavale, Md.
Also preceding him in death were seven brothers, Garret, Wilbert, Opha, Howard, Troy, Johnie and Harry James; and five sisters, Goldie, Silvia, Mabel, Beatrice and Violet.
Mr. Arbogast attended the Chestnut Grove School at Bowden and had worked for Sam G. Polino for 18 years. He also operated Arbogast Service Station for 21 years, was a farmer and owned his own construction business and RV park. He was a member of Operating Engineers Union 132 of Clarksburg and the Bowden Family Worship Center Church of the Brethren. Mr. Arbogast was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Philip Lynn Ryder officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
