William Edward Beaver 1920-2010 Obituary
William E. Beaver, 90, a resident of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 2010, in Elmcroft of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania.
He was born Aug. 13, 1920, at Julian, a son of the late Clyde and Gladys Turner Beaver. He was married to Helen Minerva Turner Beaver, who preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 2002. He is survived by two sons, Daniel C. Beaver of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, and William E. Beaver Jr. of Seneca Rocks. Also surviving are one sister, Louise Pauley of Detroit, Michigan; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Beaver was a graduate of Scott High School in Madison. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed on the Big Island of Hawaii where he served as the military fire chief. He was employed as an area manager for Columbia Gas Transmission Co. for 42 years prior to his retirement. He was a 60-year-member of Piedmont-Stella Lodge No. 50 A.F. and A.M. of Stanardsville, Virginia, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elkins.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens where Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by members of Elkins Lodge No. 108 A.F. and A.M. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for William E. Beaver.
