Rosalie Roberta Ford 1932-2017 Obituary
Rosalie Roberta Ford, 84, of Oakland, MD, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born April 19, 1932, in Thomas, WV, she was the daughter of the late Willis Harness and Sylvia Lynn (White) Carr.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Richard Ford, Sr.; one daughter, Catherine D. Ford; one sister, Ruth Mercante and one brother, Thomas Carr.
Rosalie, along with her husband Carl, owned and operated the Old Mill Restaurant in Gorman, WV, where she worked as a cook and waitress. She was a member of the Crellin United Brethren Church, Crellin, MD.
She is survived by three sons, Carl Richard “Rich” Ford, Jr., Oakland; Gary Wayne Ford, Fairmont, WV; Kevin James Ford, Nutter Fort, WV; two brothers, Charles Carr, Thomas, WV; Robert Carr, Thomas; two sisters, Anna Sutton, Thomas; Glenoma Clark, Thomas; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 pm. Services will be conducted at the Crellin United Brethren Church, 64 Otterbein Street, Oakland, MD 21550 , on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Edsel Calhoun officiating.
Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Thomas, WV.
