Franklin Noil Shreve 1940-2013 Obituary
Our Heavenly Father has called home a great servant to abide in His rest forever. On December 5, 2013, Pastor Franklin Noil Shreve, 73, of Clarksburg, closed his eyes here on this earth and opened them beholding the loving face of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
All of Heaven shouted with Jubilee as Jesus took his hand, embraced, and welcomed him into the Kingdom of God.
Pastor Frank could finally say as the Apostle Paul said, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
He was born May 16, 1940 in Beverly, WV to the late Thurman and Maggie McCaulley Shreve.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Evelyn Hamrick Shreve.
Also surviving are his children, Jeff Shreve, Clarksburg, Greg Shreve and wife Michelle, Heaters, Rodney Shreve and wife Candace, Cross Lanes, and Pamela Shreve, Clarksburg. Grandchildren, Brad and Ryan Shreve, Heaters. Frank was one of eleven children. Surviving brothers and sisters, Wanda Shreve Hamrick, Barbara Shreve Hamrick, Reeda Shreve Francis, Mary Clyburn, Richard Shreve, and Robert Shreve.
Proceeded in death, one child, Franklin Shreve, Jr., brothers and sisters, Virginia Craft, Doyle Shreve, Josephine Bennett, and Jackie Shreve. Franklin graduated the class of 1959 from Beverly High School.
He was employed at Myers Lumberyard and Lab Craft in Beverly, WV. He was owner and operator of Shreve’s Quality Home Improvements and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix.
He was employed for 24 years with the Taylor County Board of Education where he drove school bus.
In 1987 he accepted his life’s calling from the Master Carpenter, Jesus Christ, and began ministering at the Upper Room Church. “Pastor Frank” obeyed the great commission in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Under his direction the church expanded beyond the four walls by reaching across the United States through television, radio and printed page. The Vision Ministries truly bore Pastor Frank’s desire, a Vision.
Not only had he committed his life to God and his family, but he also had a great vision to reach the lost and dying in this world.
As Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” And truly Pastor Frank always had a smile on his face.
If Pastor Frank was here today, his final message would be from Deuteronomy 10:12 , “What doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”
Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Dr./Rt. 98, Clarksburg on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 2:00-8:00pm.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00am at Davis Funeral Home.
