Lawrence Allen “Larbear” Ackerman, 32, of 154 Wood St., Buckhannon, died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his home in Buckhannon.
He was born June 30, 1970, in Erie, Pa., a son of Ronald Ackerman Sr. and Linda Carlson Ackerman, who survive in Sheffield, Pa.
Also surviving are three brothers, Ronald Ackerman Jr., Buckhannon, Thomas E. Ackerman, Albion, Pa., and Martin Ackerman, Edinboro, Pa.; one sister, Melinda Furry, Edinboro, Pa.; his maternal grandfather, Dwight Carlson, Tiona, Pa.; his maternal grandmother, Katherine Boardman, Sheffield, Pa.; his paternal grandmother, Edith Shallenbarger, Erie, Pa.; an aunt, Connie Ackerman, Sheffield, Pa.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a half sister, Vickie Brown, Albion, Pa.
He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Gulf War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3663, and the American Legion Post 11. He was a Christian by faith.
Friends were received Sunday at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral. At the request of the deceased, his remains were cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for his expenses.
