Susan Whitcombm 1955-2003 Obituary
Susan Whitcomb, 47, a resident of Mill Creek, passed away Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, 2003, in the Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department following a sudden illness.
She was born Nov. 12, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Lucille Marie Folk Berkley.
She was married to Walter Whitcomb, who survives near Mill Creek.
Also surviving are one son, Olan Earl McCauley, at home, and one daughter, Emma Marie McCauley, a student at Marshall University; her stepmother, Arlene Alford, Cleveland, Tenn.; three brothers, Thomas Berkley, Avon, Ind., Allen Berkley, Paynesville, Ohio, and Roger Berkley; two half brothers, Robert and Joseph Berkley; one stepbrother, Columbus Collis; and one stepsister, Mitzi Garrett.
Susan was a loving, hard-working mother and was a graduate of the Upshur County School of Practical Nursing. She had been employed by Nella’s Nursing home for the past 17 years.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Rowan Memorial Cemetery near Mabie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children Clothing Fund, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, Pa. 16505 in memory of Susan. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Susan Whitcomb.
