Nestor E. Williams 1916-2003 Obituary
Nestor E. Williams, 87, of Rock Cave, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg.
He was born March 13, 1916, at Rock Cave, a son of the late Roy and Eula Riffle Williams.
He was united in marriage in 1940, to Edith Collins Williams, who survives in Parkersburg.
He is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Alkire of Huntsville, Ala., Brenda Finnerin, with whom he and Edith were residing with in Parkersburg, and Betsy Harnden of Beverly; four grandchildren, Todd Alkire, Eric Finnerin, Ashlea Morrow and Laura Dye; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Meghan Alkire and Jimmy Morrow; and two sisters, Margaret Chapman of Columbus, Ohio, and Mildred McKisic of Adrian.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Williams.
Mr. Williams served in the CCCs at Camp Thornwood before moving to Elkins and starting his own automotive repair business. He retired to his Christmas tree farm in Rock Cave where he lived for the past 22 years. He was an active member of the Elkins Pilots Club and was very industrious and inventive. He enjoyed generating his own electrical power with solar and wind mill.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Rock Cave Cemetery.
