Luther B. Woods Jr. 1938-2003 Obituary
Luther B. Woods Jr., 65, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Hendricks, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003.
He was born May 19, 1938, the son of the late Luther B. and Violet McDaniel Woods.
He was a retired first sergeant in the U.S. Army and served 28 years. He also worked for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service for more than 10 years. He was the past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 261 and was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Indianapolis.
He is survived by one son, Mark Woods of Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Johna Woods, Paula Woods and Pamela Mobley and spouse, Samuel, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Coye Woods of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister, Janet Carr and spouse, Keith, of Elkins; two sisters-in-law, Mary Woods of Moore and Sharon Woods of Rosendorf; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Woods and Wayne Woods
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at River View Chapel in Porterwood. Interment will be at a later date. Sunset Memorial Gardens Crematory will provide cremation services.
