Claude G. Bailey 1930-2003 Obituary
Claude G. (Bud) Bailey, 72, of Route 2, Box 2A, French Creek, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at 2 p.m. at his residence in French Creek.
He was born May 4, 1930, at Buckhannon, a son ofthe late Troy Gay and Sarah Donnas Simmons Bailey.
On Nov. 3, 1952, he married Betty L. Black Bailey, who survives. They had been married for 50 years.
Also surviving are one son, Randy Bailey and wife, Renee Beer, French Creek; four daughters, Debbie Woody, Buckhannon, Barbara Lee and husband, the Rev. Jerry Lee, French Creek, Linda Bailey, Bridgeport, and Melissa Poling, Buckhannon; one brother, H. Glenn Bailey, Buckhannon; one sister, Wilma Marceau, Buckhannon; four grandsons, Chris Woody and wife, Glenna, B.J. Bailey, Jeremy Lee and wife, Carrie, and Jonathan Lee, all of French Creek; six granddaughters, Misty Woody, Clarksburg, Casey Kelley and husband, Brandon, French Creek, Corri Fox and husband, Richard, Bellevue, Neb., Jessica Casto and husband, Chad, Wahiawa, Hawaii, Sarah Lee, French Creek, and Lauren Poling, Buckhannon; three great-grandsons, Jonathan Woody and Jared Bailey, both of French Creek, and Austin Casto, Wahiawa, Hawaii; four great-granddaughters, Kayla Woody and Bethany Lee, both of French Creek, and Emily and Molly Fox, both of Bellevue, Neb.; and a special friend and daughter at heart, Debbie Vangieson, Bridgeport.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James D. Bailey; one sister, Mary Mildred Bailey; one grandson, Jacob Israel Poling; and one granddaughter, Rose Amy Poling.
He worked for Corhart in maintenance. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the United Brick and Clay Workers Local 477 and attended Faith Tabernacle.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Rick Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon.
