Olga A. “Jerry” Ball, 85, a resident of Colonial Place, passed away at 9:01 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital emergency department.

She was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Mark and Polona Pavlas Sneberger

She was thrice married. First, in 1938, she married Carl “Bud” Bennett. In 1944, she married Jack W. Miller, who preceded her in death in 1951. On June 5, 1955, she married Willard Lynn Ball, who preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 2000.

Surviving are two brothers, Anton Sneberger and wife, Lena, of Czar, and John E. Sneberger and wife, Marion, of Helvetia; and three sisters, Katie Winemiller, Good Samaritan Center at Belington, Vera Schneider of Pickens, and Rosie Ketterman and husband, Cody, of Pickens.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Helen R. Sneberger and Mary Waggoner Varner; a brother, Mark Sneberger; and a half brother, Joseph Marnic.

During World War II, she was employed as a welder for Pratt and Whitney in Hartford, Conn. She worked in nursing at Walter Reed Army Hospital and as a beautician in the Washington, D.C. area from 1944 until 1951. She worked for many years as a beautician in Millie Teets Beauty Shop in Elkins. She was a homemaker and loved dogs and cooking for family and friends. She was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Elkins.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A prayer service will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today by the Rev. Father Giles LaVasseur. On Tuesday, Mrs. Ball will be moved to St. Brendan Catholic Church, where the Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Giles LaVasseur will be the celebrant and interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Olga A. “Jerry” Ball.
