Connie A. Barton 1912-2003 Obituary
Connie Avis Barton, 91, of Route 1, New Milton, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at her home.
She was born in Upshur County, April 15, 1912, a daughter of the late Samuel and Dora Belle Smith Lewis.
She was married to Russell Irland Barton in 1930, at Clarksburg, who preceded her in death on July 2, 1998.
She is survived by one son, Hayward A. Barton and wife, Cindy, of New Milton; one daughter, Janet M. Smith and husband, Bryan of 1829 Wheeler Fork Road, Horner; two grandchildren, June Smith Ables and husband, Bob, of Skin Creek Road, Horner, and Bryan Michael Smith and wife, Beth Ann, of Jennings Run Road, Weston.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Barton was an avid gardener and homemaker. She was a Baptist by faith.
Friends were received at Morris Funeral Home, Jane Lew, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends will also be received today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clifford Shaw and the Rev. David Cumpston officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Morris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
