William P. Beathe Sr. 1930-2003 Obituary
William P. Beathe Sr., 73, of Hinkleville, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
He was born Sept. 20, 1930, at Camden on Gauley, Webster County, the son of the late Edith Beathe Smith.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 23, 1947, to Doris Ann Sparks Beathe, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, William P. Beathe Jr. of Buckhannon; two daughters, Sherri Donna Hammons of Shelby, N.C., and Karen Lynn Morris of Summersville; five grandchildren, Johnathon Hammons and Shawna Hammons Henderson, both of Shelby, N.C., Kevin Mullens of Fenwick, Mark Beathe and Steven Beathe, both of Buckhannon; two stepgrandchildren, Tony Morris and Marletta Dorsey; one great-grandson, Mason Henderson of Shelby, N.C.; five stepgreat-grandchildren and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Georgia Ann Mullens.
Mr. Beathe attended the Rock Cave Baptist Church. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Friends will be received at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with Pastor David Jessie and Pastor Dennis Estes officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens at Calvin. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel Inc. is in charge of the arrangements for William P. Beathe Sr.
