Frank K. Bell 1917-2003 Obituary
Frank Kelly Bell, 85, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003.
He was a member of the Masons Randolph Lodge 55 in Beverly for more than 60 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Roanoke Shrine Kazim Temple and Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society and the American and Virginia Pharmaceutical Society. He was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College and the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
Mr. Bell was the former owner and operator of the Daleville Pharmacy and former employee of Peoples Drug Store. He was the poster child for the Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1930.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron S. Bell and Ida M. Bell; and brothers, Forrest J. Bell and Ned J. Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Lucile Powers Bell; son and daughter-in-law, Gary K. Bell and Connie M. Bell; daughter, Jeanne Bell Murphy; grandson, Paul Murphy; granddaughter, Leslie Murphy; brother, James W. Bell, Reisterstown, Md; and sister, Nellie Bell Liggett, Huttonsville.
A graveside service was held April 2 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Pattie Sewell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kazim Shriners Hospital for Children, 629 Campbell Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24016. Arrangements were by Oakey’s North Chapel and Crematory.
