Arthur C. Bennett 1943-2003 Obituary
Arthur Clarence Bennett, 60, of Volga, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.
He was born March 2, 1943, in Buckhannon, the son of the late Howard Martin and Ethel Radcliff Bennett.
On July 24, 1964, he was married to Wilma Jean Perry Bennett, who survives.
Surviving are one son, Arthur Bennett Jr. and wife, Wilma, of Volga; five daughters, Terecia Riffle and husband, Pudge, of Volga, Tressie Bennett of Hodgesville, Sondra Nutter and husband, John, of Philippi, Beverly Ashcraft and husband, Jim, of Doddridge County, and Ethel Smith of Ritchie County; three brothers, Willis Bennett of Rock Cave, Alva Bennett of Buckhannon, and Lee Roy of Buckhannon; three sisters, Grace Cogar of Buckhannon, Jean Linger of Buckhannon and Linda Perry of Asheville, N.C.; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Billy Bennett, Bobby Bennett, Ray Bennett, Howard Bennett Jr. and Jimmy Bennett; and and two sisters, Mary Frances Small and Anna Mae Ware.
Mr. Bennett was a coal miner and a Christian by faith.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Poling-Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Junior Harris and the Rev. Scott Krepps will officiate and interment will follow in the Lanham Cemetery in Queens.
