Edwin F. Bodkin 1926-2003 Obituary
Edwin F. Bodkin, 77, of Cabot, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1926, in Davis, he was a son of the late Aud G. and Flora Collins Bodkin.
He was a retired coal miner. He worked for the Duquesne Light Company Mines in Greene County, Pa. He retired in 1970.
He was a World War II. veteran of the United States Army, and had served in the occupation forces in Japan.
He was Baptist in faith.
His wife, Alberta Lee Shipp Bodkin, survives him. They were married Feb. 28, 1949.
Also surviving are three sons, David P. Bodkin of Cabot, Pa., Edwin F. Bodkin Jr. of Morgantown, and Mark A. Bodkin of Butler; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Naomi) Esau of Virginia Beach, Va.; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home at 201 East Cunningham St. in Butler, Pa., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Willie C. Morris, pastor of the Sandusky Baptist Church in Sandusky, N.Y., officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
