Robert W. Booth 1931-2003 Obituary
Robert W. Booth, 72, a former resident of Barbour County, Portage, Ohio, and a resident of Jane Lew for the past two years, departed this life Sunday, July 27, 2003, at his Lewis County home. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born Jan. 21, 1931, at Barbour County, a son of the late Hayward and Alice Moore Booth.
He is survived by one son, Robert L. Booth, Akron, Ohio; one sister, Audra Lambert, Jane Lew; two brothers, Herbert Booth, Medina, Ohio, and John Booth, Philippi; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Elwanda Copenhaver.
Mr. Booth attended the Belington High School, graduating during his military service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veteran Association. He was retired from the U.S. Steel Co. He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday. The casket will remain closed. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery near Belington, where the presentation of the American flag will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. The Talbott Funeral Home of Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Robert W. Booth.
