Russie V. Brake 1912-2003 Obituary
Russie V. Brake, 91, of Dalton, Ohio, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home where she had been a resident.
Born May 13, 1912, in Webster County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Samantha Green VanPelt.
She was united in marriage to Darrell Woods, who preceded her in death.
She then was united in marriage to John Brake, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Eloise Robinson of Massillon, Ohio; two sons, Jim Woods and J.R. Woods, both of Massillon, Ohio; two sisters, Pauline Hamrick of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Lela Dillon of Cowen; one brother, Acil Shaver of Webster Springs; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Ellen Hamrick and Goldie Knight. Russie was formerly employed as a cook for Webster County Schools.
She was a homemaker.Mrs. Brake was a member of Valley Head Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and are under the direction of the F.E. Runner Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Point Mountain Cemetery at Monterville.
Interment will follow.
