Cora E. Butcher 1915-2003 Obituary
Cora Elizabeth Butcher, 88, of Harman, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
She was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Harman, the daughter of the late Zebulon Moab and Mary Elizabeth Harman Judy.
In January 1955 she married her husband of 48 years, Kermit Butcher, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Charles “Chuck” Butcher of Harman; one brother, Jesse Troy and wife, Ruby C. Judy, of Eglon; and one sister, Mary Ann and husband, Mark Beckett, of Hurricane.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Mason; three brothers, Harman, Ralph and Roy; and one sister, Mae Judy.
Mrs. Butcher first worked in Celanese mill and in the 1940s and 1950s as a cook in the CY Harman Restaurant in Harman.
She was a lifelong member of the Harman Church of the Brethren.
Friends will be received at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Harman Church of the Brethren where the body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in the Harman Family Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
