Elva Louise Daniels 1918-2001 Obituary
Elva Louise Daniels, 82, Beverly, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dnaiels was born Oct. 9, 1918, in Cherry Grove and was a daughter of the late Charles Zickefoose and Alice Warner Zickefoose.
he was a 1937 graduate of Circleville High School and a 1951 graduate of Davis and Elkins College.
She was employed at Arlington Hall at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, from 1942 to 1943.
She was a schoolteacher for 39 years, haveing taught at Backridge in Pendleton County and at Millstone School, Glady, Georgetown and Beverly School in Randolph County. She retired in 1980.
Ms. Daniels was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, the Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star and the American Association of Retired Persons.
She was also a member of the Alpha Shrine No. 19, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, the John Hart Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees, the Randolph Rebekah Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church and the Circle of the Church.
On May 6, 1939, she married Ralph A. Daniels, who survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Kermit Zickefoose, Lake Havasu, AZ, and Bernard Zickefoose, Cleveland OH; a sister, Emmel Bennett, Circleville; two grandchildren Lee David Daniels, Fort Worth, TX, and Holly Anna Saxe, Atlanta, GA; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Jordan Saxe.
One son, David Lee Daniels; and three brothers, Edsel Zickefoose and infants, Elmer and Ella Zickefoose also preceded in her in death.
The Randolph Chapter #74, Order of the Eastern Star, conducted ritualistic services at the Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home in Elkins on June 8.
Final rites were conducted at the funeral home chapel, Friday, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Donald L. Fitzwater officiated and interment followed at the Beverly Cemetery at Beverly.
