HELEN LOUISE HARMAN CONRAD 1926-2001 Obituary
HELEN LOUISE HARMAN CONRAD, age 75 years, a resident of Harman, departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown.
She had been in declining health for the past three years and death was attributed to congestive heart failure.
She was born January 21, 1926, at Harman, a daughter of the late Eugene Harman and Rada Gregory Harman.
On August 8, 1941, at Oakland, MD, she was married to Ira Conrad, who preceded her in death, June 1, 1997.
They had celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Surviving are four sons, Ken Conrad, Del Conrad and wife Dee, Doug Conrad and wife, Debbie, all of Elkins, and David Conrad and wife, Melissa, Franklin; three daughters, Karen Sue Landis and husband, Leonard, Harman, Diana Lynn VanNoy and husband, Rocky, Elkins and Deborah Kaye Conrad and Tony, Charleston; one half brother, David Gregory, Gilman; one half sister, Linda Jane Chenoweth, Elkins; one step-sister, Rhetha Victor Weese, Crystal Springs, three grandchildren, Kimberly Landis Nelson and husband, Butch, Harman, and Jessica and Lance VanNoy, both of Elkins, and one great-grandson, Tyler Scott Nelson.
She was also preceded in death by one infant son, Richard Keith Conrad; one step-brother, Robert Gregory; and one step-sister, Ruth Gordon.
She attended the schools of Harman, was a homemaker, was a member of the Harman Post #5781, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, was a former member of the Harman PTA and a member of the Harman Church of the Brethren, where she had served as past president of the C.B.W.F. of the church and was active with the Bible School Program.
Final rites were conducted at the Lohr-Barb-Vance Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Walter H. Blough and the Reverend Joseph Mininger officiating.
Interment followed at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman
