Clarence Russell Bolinger, Sr., 80, of Hendricks, and more recently a resident of Nella’s Nursing Home, Elkins, died Nov. 16, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins.

He had been in declining health for two years and death was attributed to complications of diabetes.

He was born Nov. 26, 1920 at Hendricks a son of the late Albert and Hulda Helmick Bolinger.

On May 17, 1941, he was married to the former Catherine Josephine Huffman, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Clarence R. “John” (and Donna) Bolinger Jr., Hendricks, Lakin Lee (and Slona) Bolinger, and Richard “Dick” (and Willetta) Bolinger all of Parsons; seven daughters, Betty Jean Hebb, Ohio, Virginia Mae (and Lowell) Carr, Hendricks, Flodie Louise Lawrence, Holly Meadows, Sandra Kay (and Larry) Pennington, Hendricks, Grace Ann (and Carl Lee), Maryland, Ruby Jeanette (and Mike) McCrum, Parsons, Mary Frances (and Daniel) booth, Mackeyville; a brother, William T. Bolinger, Ohio; 17 grandchidlren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson and three step grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were four brothers, Thomas “Skip”, Charles “Bud”, George “Boo”, Herbert “Tooty” Bolinger; an infant sister, Lottie Mae Bolinger, and a son in law, Phillip Hebb.

He attended the one room school at Hendricks, worked for the Parsons Nursery as a supervisor for many years, and the Hinchcliff Lumber company.

He attended the Hendricks Free Methodist Church.

There were no visitations. Private graveside services were conducted Nov. 18 at the Fansler Cemetery, Hendricks.

The Rev. Harley DeLeurere officiated and interment followed.

The Barb-Greenlief Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
