John Mullenax 1917-2001 Obituary
John Lewis Mullenax, 84, of Horse Shoe Run, died Sept. 5, at Garrett county Memorial Hospital in Oakland, MD.
He was born Jan. 31, 1917 in Sugarlands, a son of the late William Carter and Ethel Cora Knotts Mullenax. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Delaney Mullenax.
Survivors inlcude one son William Mullenax; a daughter, Reba Williams of Horse Shoe Run; two step sons Terry Fairbanks and Lenny Delaney of Morgantown, four step daughters, Helen Roth of Horse Shoe Run; Barbara Evans of Leadmine, Virginia, Dixon of Amboy, Betty Slaubarugh of Morgantown; one brother Roy Mullenax of Horse Shoe Run; three sisters, Leota Keller of Terra Alta, Jean Toothman of Fairview, Ellen Stewart of Elkins; two grandchildren, Rachael and Rebecca Williams, a host of step grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Mr. Mullenax was retired from Coastal Lumber Co. and was a member of Terra Alta Senior Citizens.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis. Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at the Bethel Church of Horse Shoe Run with the Rev. Burlin Wilhelm officiating. Interment followed in the Texas Cemetery.
