Lester McClung 1913-2001 Obituary
Lester D. McClung, 88, of Cross Lanes, formerly of St. Albans, died Aug. 12.
He married Bernice Dalby of Fort Collins, CO, in 1939
He is also survived by four children, Bob McClung, Sharon Knott and Kathryn Dubarry, all of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Patty Stewart of Cross Lanes; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was employed by the state of West Virginia for 35 years, the last 20 as a state forester. After retiring from the state, he stayed active with the city of St. Albans on the Urban Tree committee. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He attended St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans, for 48 years.
Services were held Aug. 15, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Albans, with the Rev. Janet Harman officiating, assisted by Sterling Evans. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by Casdorph and Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans.
