Betty Harner Palm 1947-2001 Obituary
Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Harner Palm, 55, of Morgantown, died July 27, at home.
She was born March 15, 1947, in Morgantown, a daughter of Harry Clyde and Helen McBee Harner of Morgantown. On Dec. 2, 1972 she was married to Gene S. Palm, who preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1992.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, William R. Harner of Charles Town.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Morgantown, was a 1964 graduate of Parsons High School and a 1966 graduate of Maryland Medical Secretarial School. She worked for orthopedic surgeons in Washington, DC and Cleveland, OH. She served as office manager for a heart surgeon inTampa, FL until she was forced to retire after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She was active in 4-H and was a member of the Rainbow Girls.
Friends were received at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, where services were held July 30, with Rev. Susan McGhee officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 3064, Charleston, WV 25330.
