Nora M. Tenney 1922-2003 Obituary
Nora M. Tenney, 80, of 14 Rohr Ave., Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Sago, a daughter of the late Renny Martin and Nola Estaline Wilfong Casto.
On June 22, 1942, she married Wilbert M. Tenney, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Howes and husband, Franklin, French Creek, Shirley Reger and husband, Phillip, and Cindy DeBarr and husband, Charles Jr., all of Buckhannon; four sons, Spurgeon Casto and wife, Mabel, Wooster, Ohio, Charles Tenney and wife, Mary, Buckhannon, Robert Tenney and wife, Linda, Apple Creek, Ohio, and Tom Tenney, New Bern, N.C.; 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Tenney; two brothers, Harrison Casto and Dewey Casto; three sisters, Della Tenney, Merle Carper and Ora Day; and one grandson, David Tenney.
She was a homemaker and attended Sand Run Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Friday, she will be moved to Sand Run Baptist Church, where she will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Donald Butcher and the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery
