Vera Delorse Tenney 1926-2003 Obituary
Vera Delorse Tenney, 77, of Tallmansville Road, Buckhannon, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1926, at Ivanhoe, the daughter of Walter Anderson and Ethel Wilfong and the stepdaughter of Herbert Wilfong.
Her husband, the Rev. Victor A. Tenney of Tallmansville Road, survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Gary Tenney of Charles Town, Lary Tenney of Barrickville, Danny Tenney of Morgantown and Mark Tenney and wife, Krista, of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Tenney and Gabrielle Tenney; and one sister, Jessie Smith of Buckhannon.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil Wilfong and Dayton Wilfong.
She was a housewife and member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the Tallmansville Homemakers Club.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at the funeral chapel at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Billie Scott and Karen Frazier will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
