Victor A. Tenney 1922-2003 Obituary
The Rev. Victor A. Tenney, 81, of Buckhannon, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in Fairmont General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 2, 1922, in Tallmansville, the son of the late Albert and Stella Winston Glass Tenney.
His wife, Vera Delorse Tenney, preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2003.
Surviving are four sons, Gary Tenney of Charles Town, Lary Tenney of Barrackville, Danny Tenney of Morgantown and Mark Tenney and wife, Krista, of Fairmont; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Tenney and Gabrielle Tenney; and three sisters, Bethene Hull of Buckhannon, Margie Reese of Clarksburg and Letha Hinkle of Barberton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kiser Tenney and Elles Tenney; and one sister, Fleta Hull.
He was a Methodist minister for 29 years and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Donald Thomas and Karen Frazier will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
