Verledo F. Tingler 1927-2003 Obituary
Verledo Frederick Tingler, 75, a resident of Beverly, departed this life Sunday evening, April 13, 2003, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He had been in declining health for the past two years and death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Monday, Aug. 15, 1927, at Cumberland, Md., a son of the late Fred Tingler and Florney Lambert Tingler, who survives at Bowden.
On May 6, 1967, at Mill Creek, he was married to the former Brenda Ann Beale, who survives at Beverly.
Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Brent Tingler, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gregory Rean Tingler, Beverly; two daughters, Sharon L. Honeycutt and husband, Butch, Sykesville, Md., and Kimberly Ann Hise and husband, Curtis, Chester, Va.; two brothers, Freddie Tingler, Winchester, Va., and Ronald Tingler, Elkins; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are two sisters, Nioka Tingle and Loma Long.
He attended the schools of Randolph County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy for 20 years, serving during World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Naval Reserve for 10 years. He was the owner and operator of Tingler’s Vacuum, Sewing Machine Repair and Upholstery at Beverly. He was a hunter and a people person and had a great love for the sea.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter H. Blough will officiate and cremation will follow. The H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and the Tygarts Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct full military rites at the funeral home.
