Concetta E. Travise 1914-2003 Obituary
Concetta “Cora” E. Antolini Travise, 88, a resident of the Norton community, entered into a new journey of her life, Monday morning, July 14, 2003, at her home, with her daughter, granddaughter and friends, after a short illness.
She was born Thursday, Oct. 22, 1914, at Coalton, a daughter of the late Nunzio “James” Antolini and Antonette Maria DiBacco Antolini.
She is survived by and leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Nancy Mace and son-in-law Leonard Mace, Norton; stepdaughter, Julie Corley and husband, Monty, Mabie; a loving brother, Louie Antolini, Arthurdale; grandchildren, Michelle Mace, Michael Mace, Antionette Patrizo, Frances Trimm and Victoria Cordelli; stepgrandchildren Dennis Phillips and Lori; eight great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren and a special niece, Frances Girard, Elkins.
She was preceded in death by her loving companion of 46 years, Thomas “Tom” Channell, her first husband, Guy Travise Sr.; a son, Guy Travise, Jr.; three brothers, James V. Antolini, Orest Antolini and Patsy J. Antolini; and three sisters, Anna Antolini, Concetta Antolini and Ann Louise Polce.
She will be forever remembered as a loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a woman of integrity, grace and honor. She always gave freely and loved deeply. She lived her life with love and compassion for everyone. She attended the Norton School, was the owner of Cora’s Lunch at Jimtown for 25 years, and was an employee at Labcraft at Beverly for 10 years. She was an avid cook and gardener and will be greatly missed by her daughter, family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Today, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, a prayer service will be recited by the Rev. Father William Anderson. On Thursday, a Christian celebration of Cora’s beautiful life will be conducted at the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton. The Rev. Father Giles LeVasseur will be the presider and entombment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Gilman. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250.
