Keith VanDevender 1922-2003 Obituary
Keith VanDevender, 80, a resident of Route 2, Elkins, passed away Monday in Nella’s Nursing Home Inc.
He was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Randolph County, the son of the late John and Emma Coberly VanDevender.
He was married to Juanita Mae Zickefoose, who preceded him in death on Oct. 20, 2001.
He is survived by one stepson, Roger Zickefoose of Hodgesville; four daughters, Myrna and Stephanie VanDevender, both of Elkins, Martha Jane VanDevender of New York, Kimberly VanDevender of Highland Park; and two sisters, Juanita Sharp, a resident of the Broaddus Rehabilitation Center at Philippi, and Naomi Simmons of Highland Park.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Kimberly Cyr, Brian Zickefoose, Christopher Poling, Tony Neubaugher, Amanda Frankson, Stephanie and Shane Rohr, John, Kayla and Alex Taylor, Mike Hawkins and Liz Wyatt; and two great-grandchildren, Mary Cyr and Brooklyn Wyatt.
Mr. VanDevender was a social member of Tygart Valley Post 29 Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends may call today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Ralph Miller will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Keith VanDevender. From 14 Aug 2003.
