Eugene Wall 1915-2003 Obituary
Eugene “Ewall” Wall, 88, a former resident of 1610 Taylor Ave., Elkins, and more recently a resident of Swisher’s Assisted Care Home at Elkins, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 15, 2003, at the home. He had been in declining health for the past two months.
He was born Thursday, May 6, 1915, at Camden, S. C., the son of the late John Wall and Mary Wall.
On May 5, 1945, he was married to the former Clara Beulah Wamsley, who preceded him on death April 8, 2001.
Surviving are one daughter, Joy Hostetler and husband, the Rev. Eli Hostetler, of Parsons; one grandson, Kevin Hostetler and wife Joan, of Parsons; one nephew, Donald Gordon of Elkins; and one niece, Evelyn Snodgrass of Elkins.
Eugene attended the schools of Camden, S.C., and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army. He was a welder and heavy equipment mechanic and worked for Frazee Lumber Co., Glannon Spring Service and the Tygart Block Co., from which he retired.
He was a member of the Gospel Light Tabernacle and served as Sunday School superintendent.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home at Elkins, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. A. H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery where the H. W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion will present the American Flag.
