Blanche Chamberlain 1906-2003 Obituary
Blanche Katherine Chamberlain, 96, a former resident of 94 Ward Road and of Dailey, where she made her home with her niece, Arra Currence, and a resident of Nella’s since April 13, 1997, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at 10 p.m. at Davis Memorial Hospital emergency room.
She had been in failing health; however, her condition had declined in the past year.
She was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Middlefork, a daughter of the late Otha Lee and Ellen Markley Herron.
On Feb. 17, 1927, she was united in marriage to Joseph Chamberlain, who preceded her in death in March 1957.
Surviving are two sisters, Bertha Currance, a resident of Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, and Stella Cogar of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were seven sisters, Vallie Shiflett, Florence Tenny, Elva Barkley, Nellie Wegman, Alta Cogar, Lori Currence and infant Martha Herron; and two brothers, Russell Herron and Ezra Herron.
She was a homemaker.
Her favorite pastime was handsewing and she was well known for helping her neighbors in any way she could.
She attended Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday after 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Mrs. Chamberlain will be moved to Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church for visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the funeral hour.
The Rev. Frank Long and the Rev. Randy Long, pastors of the church will officiate.
Interment will follow at Jerusalem Cemetery on the Adolph Road.
