Christopher Channell 1958-2003 Obituary
Christopher Michael Channell, 45, of Route 1, Huttonsville, the Becky’s Creek community, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003.
His death was unexpected. He was the foster son of John and Charlotte Pingley of Huttonsville.
He was born Feb. 9, 1958, in Elkins, the son of Addie Mae Currence of Mill Creek and the late Blaine Channell.
On Aug. 13, 1999, in Monterey, Va., he was married to the former Diane Denise Shannon, who survives at Huttonsville.
He is also survived by one son, John David Channell, at home; one daughter, Cassandra Dawn Channell of Huttonsville; two brothers, Dennis and Gail Channell; four sisters, Francine Tingler, Elaine Channell, Judith Snyder and Rebecca Arbogast; a foster sister, Chryl Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Christopher was employed as a coal miner for Anker Energy and was an avid farmer.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Jack Howell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery near Huttonsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Virginia Children’s Home, 230 Heavner Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241 in memory of Mr. Channell.
