Olan V. Channell 1925-2003 Obituary
Olan V. Channell, 78, of Lima, departed this life Sunday, May 15, 2003, at his residence.
He was born at Valley Head, a son of the late John D. and Mabel Swecker Channell.
He was employed in the coal mines for 10 years, in auto body repair shops for 11 years and retired from Eureka Pipeline Co. with 23 years of service. He was a member of the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church in Alma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Olan Dewayne Channell, in 1988; and four brothers, Charles, Donald, Estill and Troy Channell. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Corrigan Channell; a son, Timothy at home; one daughter, Linda Simons of Stephens City, Va.; three brothers, Denver, Drainer and Ted Channell, all of Valley Head; three grandchildren, Steven Simons of Manassas, Va., Sheri Washington of Stephens City, Va., and Cassie Channell of Shirley.
Also surviving are several great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Indian Southern Baptist Church, Alma, with Pastor Bobby Thomas officiating.
Interment followed in Victory Cemetery at Alma.
