Arlene T. Cook 1919-2003 Obituary
Arlene Thompson Cook, 83, a former resident of Pocahontas Street, Buckhannon, and more recently a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, Elkins, departed this life early Wednesday morning, Oct. 15, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital.
She had been in declining health for the past year.
She was born Sunday, Oct. 26, 1919, at Whitmer, the daughter of the late William Thompson and Cena Mullenax Thompson.
n Oct. 26, 1946, she was married to Ernest Cook, who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1988.
urviving are three sons, Ronald Cook and wife, Kathy, of Pittsboro, N. C., Stephen Cook and wife, Norma, of Amissville, Va., and Roland Cook and wife, Brenda, of Angier, N.C.; three brothers, Phil Thompson and wife, Ardell, of Elkins, Donald Thompson and wife Ann, of Lorain, Ohio, and Barney Thompson of Whitmer; two sisters Caddie White and husband, Odith, of Elkins, and Lucy Lambert of Wiley Forge; three grandchildren, Brittany Cook, Heather Cook and Stephen Cook II; and one great grandchild.
Arlene attended the schools of Whitmer, was a homemaker and was a Methodist.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home at Elkins, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Friday.
The Rev. Richard Jewell will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
