William J. Corley 1919-2003 Obituary
William James “Bill” Corley, 83, a resident of 215 Bridgewater Drive, Elkins, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at his home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1919, at Gage, a son of the late Russell Boyd Corley and the late Rachel Lena Wagner Corley Price.
On Nov. 1, 1941, at Monterey, Va., he was married to Rosalie Flanagan Corley, who survives in Elkins.
Also surviving are one son, James Roger Corley of Moundsville; two daughters, Rachel Ann McCauley of Huttonsville and Patricia Sue Kuhayda of Sunset Beach, N.C.; three brothers, Adrian Corley of Brooklyn, Ohio, Donald Corley and Homer Corley, both of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were three brothers, infant Gary Corley, Kenneth Corley and Deward Corley.
r. Corley was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during World War II. He was employed as a coal miner and a supervisor for Valley Camp Coal Co. prior to his retirement.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Sullivan officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of arrangements for William James “Bill” Corley.
