Irena Ruth Warner 1907-2003 Obituary
Irena Ruth C. Warner, 96, a resident of Route 2, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Anne Arundel County Hospital in Bowie, Md.
She was born June 4, 1907, in Buckhannon, the daughter of the late Charles W. Carr and Teresa Hibbs Carr.
On May 18, 1934, she was married to Orval B. Warner Sr., who died May 18, 1968.
Surviving are one son, Orval B. Warner Jr. and wife, Pat, Huntington, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. George (Wanda R.) Swisher, Bowie, Md.; one daughter-in-law, Diane M. Warner, Buckhannon; one sister, Ireta Rose Carr, Buckhannon; one brother, Alva Carr, Wintersville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Teresa Brower, Juanita Fox, Diana Galvin, Carmen Henninger, Carla Johnston, Christina Swisher, Donald Swisher, Darrell Warner, Jeffrey Warner and Lee Warner; 16 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Carroll Lee Warner; and one brother, Madison Carr.
Mrs. Warner was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at the Sand Run Baptist Church on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. Robert Poling will officiate and interment will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
