Russell M. Warner -2003 Obituary
Russell McKendria Warner, 85, of Cherry Grove, died Sunday, May 25, 2003.
Mr. Warner, retired from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources, was also an avid farmer and outdoorsman. He was a member of the Pendleton County Farm Bureau and the Franklin Moose Lodge No. 769, as well as a 50-year member of Pendleton Lodge No. 144 of the AF&AM. He was also a member of the North Dry Run United Methodist Church.
Mr. Warner was born at North Day Run, near Cherry Grove, to Wilbur Flick Warner and Mary Kate Nelson Warner, who both preceded him in death. Mr. Warner is also preceded in death by his brother, Julino Nelson, and sisters, Leslie Warner and Mildred Colain.
Mr. Warner is survived by his wife, Gretta Mae Waybright; his sisters, Lucille Warner of Franklin, Thelma Lambert of Cherry Grove and Myrtle Thompson of Franklin; daughters, Frances Ellen Von-Schilling of Cherry Grove, and Sherrly Lee Pillow of Warrenton, Va.; and grandchildren, Adrian Sean Pillow and Susan Lily Pillow.
Family and friends will be received today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Stanley Kile will preside over the services, with Masonic graveside services conducted at the North Fork Memorial Cemetery in Riverton by Pendleton Lodge No. 144.
The family has asked any memorial donations to be given to the Pendleton County Rescue Squad.
