Smilley Warner 1940-2003 Obituary
Mr. Smilley Warner, 62, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, the Chenoweth Creek Road, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in the Davis Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. He had been in failing health for many years.
He was born April 29, 1940, in Riverton, a son of the late John Kenney Warner and the late Octavia White Warner.
On Dec. 1, 1957, he was married to the former Starlene Seese, who survives in Elkins. The Warners recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Also surviving are three sisters, Ruby Todd and Grace Johns, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Sara Alice Taylor of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were five brothers and one sister.
Mr. Warner was employed by Labcraft for many years prior to becoming disabled.
He was a member of Montrose Lodge No. 265 IOOF and the Memorial Mission Church in Mill Creek.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. At 7 p.m. Sunday, Montrose Lodge No. 265 IOOF will conduct a memorial service. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Frank Long and the Rev. Bernard Teter officiating. Interment will follow in the J.J. Warner Family Cemetery in Pendleton County. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Smilley Warner.
