Elsie Marie Phillips Weese 1913-2003 Obituary
Elsie Marie Phillips Weese, 89, a resident of Route 2 in Belington and more recently a resident of the Talbott Personal Care Facility in Belington, departed this life at 2:50 a.m. Friday. Oct. 10 in the care facility. She had been in declining health for quite some time.
She was born Oct. 25, 1913, on Mill Run in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Marvin and Olive Mae Phillips.
On Sept. 16, 1950, at Belington, she was united in marriage to Earnest Weese who survives at the Talbott Personal Care Facility in Belington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one stepdaughter, Letha Marsh-Ohio; three stepgrandchildren; cousins, Herbert Phillips of Elkins, Gladys Harris of Uniontown, Ohio, Wilma Lee Sturms and Nina Lee Jones, both of Akron, Ohio, Alta Mae Robinson of Fernley, Nev., Laura Lou Tennant and husband, Don, of Mogadore Ohio, Richard and Linda Kittle of Belington and Harry Harris Jr. of Akron, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Earl and wife, Verdie, of Montrose; two sisters-in-law, Emma Poling and husband, Otis, Montrose, and Erma Woolford of Elkins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one cousin, Stuart Harris.
Mrs. Weese attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker and a member of the Sugar Creek United Methodist Church near Belington.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and until 2 p.m. Sunday when services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. Walter Blough officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery at Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Elsie Marie Phillips Weese.
