Gale C. Craig 1936-2003 Obituary
Gale C. Craig 67, a resident of Ireland, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1936, in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late the Rev. Lloyd and Bertha Thornton Miller.
On May 9, 1953, she married Ronald C. “Frank” Craig, who passed away on Feb. 26, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen L. Craig and wife, Sharrey, of Ireland, and Douglas L. Craig and wife, Cathy, of Ireland; two daughters, Debra Lambert and husband, Jim, of Weston, and Tamera K. Craig of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronald Miller of Arkansas, Ralph Miller of Ireland, Jerry Miller of Ireland, Delmar Miller of Virginia; and two sisters, Earlene Sykes of Ohio and Nelda Machutas of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Miller.
Mrs. Craig was a member of the Ireland United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and co-founder of Mountain State Log Homes in Ireland.
She was a member of the Shamrock Community Educational Outreach Service Club in Ireland was a volunteer at Our Neighbor in Weston, was past queen of the 2001 Irish Spring Festival and was the 1995 Homemaker of the Year for Lewis County.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Alkire Funeral Chapel in Ireland. She will lie in state at the Alkire Funeral Chapel Saturday from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. The Alkire Funeral Chapel of Ireland is in charge of the arrangements for Gale C. Craig.
